Ways to Save Money on Travel with Groupon

Using Groupon, I have saved HUNDREDS of dollars, if not more, on hotels, car rentals, supplies, events, activities, attractions, etc. Here's how...

Although this is a sponsored post, all opinions are 100% my own.  I have been a customer for years!

If you know me, you know I LOVE to travel.  Friends and family typically have a hard time keeping track of where I am.  I often get messages from friends that read, “Where in the world are you now?!?!?”. In the past month, I have traveled to Denmark, Atlanta, and Key West.  Hawaii and Iceland plans are formulating for the near future as well.   How do I do this?  How is it possible to get to all these places?  BY SAVING MONEY while booking my trips !!!!   I like to travel light, fast, and cheap so that I have money leftover to use to enjoy the experiences they have to offer.  Check out the Ways to Save Money on Travel with Groupon ! DIY Whipped Body Cream made with Mango Butter

If you know me either in person, or by Little Miss Dexterous, you know that I make virtually all of my own skincare and body care products. I’m a little obsessed :).  Gone are the days when I will buy (or use) anything laden with synthetic chemicals.  For a fraction of the cost, using all organic or natural ingredients, I can make DIY products such as body cream, body butter, body wash, wrinkle creams, etc…  I usually use high quality Shea butter, Coconut oil, Young Living Essential Oils, and a few other carrier oils to create these rich, moisturizing, and nourishing products.  I was so excited to recently get my hands on some mango butter, and I have made a body cream that tops all others! It is amazing!  (more…)

The Best 10 Things to Do and See in Denmark (Europe)

Join me on my journey of The 10 Best Things to Do and See in Denmark! It truly is one of the most beautiful and interesting places I have ever been.I recently traveled to Denmark… ALL OVER Denmark. I have to admit that it is one of the most beautiful and interesting places I have ever been.  I only had 10 days on my solo adventure to the country, but in those 10 days, I truly feel as though I got such an authentic taste of the culture and saw so many amazing sites.  The country is quite small covering 16,574 sq. miles.  The compact size, plus the AMAZING public transport system, allowed me to travel from Copenhagen in the east, to Ribe in the west, then all the way to Skagen and Grenen, at the far north of the country. Along my route, I saw and did many things that I believe might be some of the most breathtaking and fascinating things I will ever see in my lifetime.  Join me on my journey of The 10 Best Things to Do and See in Denmark! Roasted Cabbage Wedges with Parmesan Pesto

These Roasted Cabbage Wedges with Parmesan Pesto are going to be my "go to dish" when I need to wow a crowd! It is simple, healthy, and SO tasty.Tired of the same old cabbage recipes year after year? Coleslaw, stuffed cabbage leaves, taco fillings, etc….Me too!

In my share at the Ever Growing Family Farm CSA, I got one of the biggest heads of green cabbage I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I needed to bring a dish to a friends house for dinner, and I didn’t have a lot of time to prepare something. I wanted to use this cabbage!!!  I decided to roast cabbage slices and smother them with some left-over pesto because that seemed like an easy thing to do. (Pesto makes EVERYTHING taste amazing, right????)  Little did I know that these roasted cabbage wedges with Parmesan pesto would be SO delicious and easy to make! In no time at all, these babies were roasted and my friends were completely WOWed with the flavor! I have a new favorite to add to my repertoire!

Roasted Cabbage Wedges with Parmesan Pesto

With five minutes of prep time and 20-25 minutes of cooking, these Roasted Cabbage Wedges with Parmesan Pesto are going to be my “go to dish” when I need to wow a crowd! It is simple, healthy, and SO tasty. (more…)

Skinny Frozen Hurricane Cocktail

Transport yourself right into the heart of New Orleans with each sip of this Skinny Frozen Hurricane Cocktail. With no added sugar, drink this with no guilt!

Yum

Transport yourself right into the heart of New Orleans with each sip of this Skinny Frozen Hurricane Cocktail.  Hear those horns playing, and see the glitz of the Mardi Gras flash before your eyes?  Sipping on this fabulous cocktail, you might just start tapping your toes!

Many years ago now, I visited New Orleans with a friend.  I had a Hurricane Cocktail.  I have loved them ever since! I always feel guilty when drinking them though because they are so full of sugar.  In order to make one it healthier, I created my own version containing much less sugar. The sweetness from this drink comes from the fruit, juice, and yes of course- the rum.  There are no syrups or mixes that add in TONS of empty calories and unnatural things to the drink.  Just pure goodness. Of course there is always the option to leave out the rum and still enjoy the great flavor! “Laissez les bons temps rouler.”…. Let the good times roll.

DIY Car Air Freshener- Safe and Healthy to Breathe!

Make this DIY Car Air Freshener to ensure you are breathing in something safe! Scented by Young Living Essential Oils of your choice. Make a mobile spa!

How many of you spend A LOT of time in your car each day???? Whether it be commuting to work, ferrying around kids, or running errands, the time in our cars can add up!

I wanted an air freshener in my car.    I refused to buy one of those “trees” that do not disclose the ingredients! I can’t even image the chemicals and substances in those tree- to make the scent coat your nose and throat.  WHAT ARE YOU BREATHING IN???? I was terrified about the mystery, so I created a very simple DIY air freshener. I used none other then Young Living Essential Oils (the purest there is) for the scent. It is very easy to make, “customizable” in every way, and HEALTHY to breath in!  (more…)

DIY Pill Pockets {for dogs}

Pup won't eat their pill? Make these DIY Pill Pockets using two ingredients. Use these as treats as well since they have minimal ingredients.
If you own a dog ,  you have most likely have or will have to give them some kind of medicine at point or another. Sometimes they eat it, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes you can hide it in their food, and sometimes even that doesn’t work.  Sometimes you are chasing them around the house only to have open their mouths and drop the pill down their gullets.  Getting your dog to eat a pill could take A LOT of work!   I’ve used commercially made pill pocket in the past to trick my pooch, but those scare me for several reasons. The ingredients in them are a bit questionable. What kind of synthetic chemicals or gelatinous material am I giving to Dexter dog?!?! Also, Dexter is on a restricted unprocessed food diet. (check out The Honest Kitchen diet I feed Dexter HERE!) So giving him something with all of those weird ingredients, is not something I’m comfortable with. I decided to make these DIY Pill Pockets using two ingredients. I also use these as treats since they have minimal ingredients and Dexter loves them so much.  Thanks to my great friend Jess for sharing this amazing recipe with me! Now, I can share it with the world and all the furbabies out there…. (more…)
