DIY Natural Lip Balm *Moisturizing and Soothing*

Do you use lip balm like it's your job? This silky, smooth DIY Natural Lip Balm is moisturizing and soothing. Change that chapped pout right into a smile!

I use lip balm like it’s my job! There are always 4-5 tubes lying around between my coat pockets, nightstand, and various bags.  That is- unless I loose them. You all know the fright that occurs when you can’t find your lip balm!  :0   Store-bought natural lip balms cost about $4+ each, and that adds up!   I decided to take matters into my own hands and make my own so I would always have a stash of my DIY Natural Lip Balm on hand, while not breaking the bank!  I am SO glad that I did.  I LOVE this recipe.  I don’t see myself having to buy store-bought lip balm again! It is moisturizing, smooth, healing, and tastes great! I love that I can make it in minutes and that I can make a variety of flavors to please my smackers!  (more…)

Decadent Cocoa Dusted Chocolate Bon Bons

These Cocoa Dusted Chocolate Bon Bons came out tasting SO delicious and were ridiculously easy to make. These will go in my repertoire! C'est magnifique!

Are you ready to have your tastebuds travel to a fancy confection shop in Paris?!?!?  Well, let’s go!   I recently needed to make a dessert to take to a friends house, and I thought I would try my hand out at making something chocolatey and delicious.  I searched through my stash of recipes, sifting through tons of recipes that seemed too complicated to make.  I was looking for something quick, easy, and simple to whip together.  I was intrigued by a recipe I found from France- in French, but I lacked some of the ingredients necessary.  Well, I pretended I was a French candy maker, and I made my own version using what I had in my pantry.  These Cocoa Dusted Chocolate Bon Bons came out tasting SO delicious and were ridiculously easy to make. These will go in my repertoire for ever more….. C’est magnifique!  (more…)

Healthy Lemon Garlic Hummus

Taken from a women I befriended while in Turkey, this Lemon Garlic Hummus recipe will WOW you! The creamy texture and flavor from tahini is delicious.

When I was in Turkey a few years ago, I ate the best hummus I have ever had (at every meal, every day)!  I was so fortunate to strike up a conversation with the charming cook in a small restaurant while in Izmir.  I was SO lucky to chat with her for a bit and talk ALL ABOUT THE AMAZING FOOD she made at her small family style restaurant. She allowed me to sample a few things, including freshly ground tahini.  WHAT A TREAT!  Tahini is sesame seed paste, and it a adds flavor and a level of DELICIOUS to any dish.  The other day, I was reminiscing about my trip, and I decided to make the recipe that the woman told me and that I wrote down on a paper place mat.  I am so glad I did (and glad I didn’t loose the folded up place mat either!)  (more…)

How to make DIY Natural Wool Dryer Balls

Be good to the Earth and good to your wallet by making these DIY Wool Dryer Balls! Easy to make, scented with Young Living Essential Oils, and inexpensive!

I feel as though I do a zillion loads of laundry a week.  Between my athlete husband’s dirty clothes, my dirty dog, and my own sweaty clothes after a workout or dance class, I find myself washing clothes almost every day. I will ONLY use all natural laundry detergents and dryer sheets because wanting to be earth-friendly and being selective about what goes on my family’s skin, is very important to me.  Let me tell you though, the cost of all natural products can add up REALLY fast! Well- I was at it again…being dexterous!   I made these DIY Wool Dryer Balls!  These dryer balls are made of merino wool, scented with 100% pure Young Living Essential Oils, and eliminate static. They contain no harmful synthetic chemicals and smell DIVINE!  Because they are reusable, they do not create trash.  It is a win-win situation for all!  If you have a few minutes, you can make these in no time at all… (more…)

Baba Ganoush : Mediterranean Eggplant Dip

Ever since I returned home from Turkey, I have been making Baba Ganoush. I love the smoky, nutty, rich flavor that encompasses the eggplant dip. DELICIOUS!Baba Ganoush : Mediterranean Eggplant Dip

Baba Ganoush is one of my favorite dishes to eat. Smoky, creamy, healthy, and easy to make!  When I was in Turkey a few  years ago, I ordered it every chance I got.  I was SO fortunate that I was able to learn from a woman a befriended there how to make it.  I have been enjoying it ever since. I am in love with the nutty, rich flavor this dip boasts. It uses only a few simple ingredients and is really healthy.  I like to eat it with pita chips or slices! Crunchy veggies such as cucumbers and carrots are great to dip too.  Ahhhhhhh…. brings me back to Anatolia…… (more…)
