They are the perfect healthy, quick and easy thing to make- either for a snack or sometimes as a meal itself! I am on a mission lately to make my diet as simple and healthy as possible. One of my recent favorites is this Banana Chia Protein Smoothie which happens to be packed with a huge protein punch. It keeps me feeling full for hours and is chock- full of energy making ingredients.

Crazy days and busy evenings have been getting me REALLY tired lately! It has been a challenge to stay fueled and avoid that 3PM slump each day! This Banana Chia Protein Smoothie helps kick that slimp to the curb. The banana and coconut milk pair extremely well with the nutty flavors of the chia seeds and cashews. The yogurt adds a bit of body to the smoothie and also gives a boost to digestion.There is a really nice consistency to this smoothie, so it actually keeps in the refrigerator really well to enjoy at a later time! Great for a grab-and-go kind of situation!
Here’s what you need:
- 1 cup light, unsweetened coconut milk
- 1 banana
- 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
- ~10 cashews (~2 tablespoons)
- 1 tablespoon plain greek yogurt
- 3 ice cubes
*** This shake can easily be made vegan or varied. You can use any kind of milk you want. I think other YUMMY choices would be cashew milk, almond milk, or hemp milk. You can substitute regular yogurt for a coconut milk based yogurt.
Here’s what you do:
- Blend all ingredients together in a blender until smooth.
- Garnish with a few chia seeds and enjoy the protein packed punch!
